In horror movies, the killer can always find the female protagonist. Ben Willis lured Julie James to the Bahamas. Michael Myers always found Laurie Strode and even killed her once. Sydney Prescott could run but she couldn't hide.

As far-fetched as all these movies are, we are able to suspend our disbelief because it's just mindless entertainment and it doesn't have to make any sense.

The idea that Billy tracked Maura down in a place that was foreign to both of them, even when local PD, state PD, and NH Fish & Game couldn't, is not at all an unpopular idea. And for anyone who views Maura's life and death as mindless entertainment, portraying Billy as an omniscient evil genius is the way to go. Then again a twist ending where Maura was actually alive all along...now that's a true fucking sock-knocker-offer. But is it too much like Gone Girl? Maybe we could add another twist that Billy's really dead like in the Sixth Sense? Should we make him a vampire? I'm just spit-balling.
